Australia it seems is literally on fire. We are in the midst of what is one of the worst bushfire seasons on record with fires blazing across Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, Western Australia, South Australia and the Northern Territory.
The facts are staggering. A state of emergency has been declared in NSW. 19 people have been killed, many are missing and others have lost everything. Many people are having to leave their homes and animals in the face of imminent danger with few options. A significant portion of Koala habitat is also under threat.
In the face of such horrors it can be easy to feel hopeless and helpless. But it really struck me yesterday how much good there is in people when yesterday I saw that The Equestrian Co is donating thier January and February profits to support those affected by bushfires.
And now another of my favourite equestrian companies, Centreline Equestrian https://centrelineequestrian.com.au/ will also be donating thier January profits to WIRES Wildlife Rescue.
If you are in Australia and would like to donate supplies Horseland’s Australia wide are acting as donation points and have listed particular items required. If you have any of these items available please consider donating.
If you would prefer to donate money you can do so through a variety of charities and associations depending on the exact cause you would like to support.
