I began taking horse riding lessons at age six. More than 35 years later, I’m still in the saddle and am more obsessed with equestrian sports than ever.

My young rider background was in dressage, which I still love. As an adult, I have gained experience in stadium jumping, eventing, working equitation, trail riding, reining, cutting, and roping. There’s always more to learn—it’s why I started Horse Rookie!

I’ve enjoyed riding in four countries, from galloping the beaches of Costa Rica to eventing in lush green Ireland. When I’m home, I hone my skills by taking 2-3 lessons per week, schooling 3-4 times per week, showing occasionally, and attending at least 5 riding clinics per year.

Montana, USA is home, and my herd includes reined cow horse Rem (AQHA), jumping pony Jax (Azteca), and miniature horse Bug (Appaloosa).
