Hello, I’m Dr. Palmer Poutre, originally from Winston-Salem, North Carolina. My journey brought me to the picturesque landscapes of Bozeman in 2004, where I embarked on a path deeply intertwined with my passion for animals.
I started my journey at Baxter Creek as a technician in 2010, concurrently pursuing my undergraduate degree. I graduated from Montana State University in 2011 with a Bachelor of Science in Equine Science. Following this, my pursuit of veterinary medicine led me to St. George’s University, where I immersed myself in the realms of animal care, culminating in clinical training at Auburn University’s College of Veterinary Medicine.
Returning to Montana and Baxter Creek Veterinary Clinic has been an incredible homecoming for me. The opportunity to contribute to the well-being of animals in this stunning locale is both a privilege and a joy.
Beyond my professional endeavors, my heart finds solace in the great outdoors, often exploring nature alongside my beloved dogs. As an ardent admirer of horses, my leisure time is frequently spent immersed in the world of these majestic animals. I have a special affinity for my Off-the-Track Thoroughbred (OTTB) gelding, Goose, whose presence in my life brings me immeasurable joy.
I’m deeply dedicated to the welfare of animals, and this commitment extends beyond the confines of my work. Nurturing a strong bond with animals and nature remains a cornerstone of my personal and professional life. It’s an honor to be part of the incredible team at Baxter Creek, serving the wonderful community in Montana and reveling in the privilege of caring for the well-being of our furry and equine companions.
