What should you wear to a Wellington horse show? Our equestrian spectator fashion guide helps you...

Hi, I’m Bethany, the face behind My Equestrian Style! My journey with horses began at the age of five in Wisconsin, where I delved into the world of hunter/jumper riding. Under the guidance of various Wisconsin trainers, I navigated the junior horse show scene, participating in both hunter and jumper rings, crafting my skills and passion for riding.
During my college years, where riding programs were absent, I devoted my focus to academics in Strategic Communication. But post-graduation, I embarked on an adventure. Three weeks after earning my degree, I tied the knot with my incredible “Instagram husband,” Ethan, who happens to be the head photographer for MES. Together, we journeyed to Los Angeles, where I explored my passion for the fashion industry, working as a stylist for a celebrity jewelry line. Despite my engagement, the office environment didn’t resonate with me. I felt a pull back to my equestrian roots.
My connection with Nick Karazissis of Far West Farms in Calabasas, CA, became a pivotal point. Nick offered me a role as a rider and trainer in their Riding School, a role that expanded my horizons in the California horse world, as Nick is widely regarded as the best trainer and clinician on the West Coast. Under his mentorship, I rode multiple horses daily, gaining invaluable skills and confidence in training and riding.
While parting ways with Far West Farms was bittersweet, Ethan’s burgeoning real estate business prompted our move to northern Florida. Settling in St. Augustine, I found the perfect blend of riding and photography expertise, leading to the birth of My Equestrian Style. This lifestyle blog merges equestrian fashion, riding, training, fitness, and lifestyle, offering a contemporary take on equestrianism.
I envision MES as a platform to spotlight chic and innovative equestrian clothing and lifestyle brands. My aim is to redefine the equestrian world’s fashion and aesthetic through creativity and social media, proving riding can be cutting-edge, elegant, and seamlessly integrated into daily life.
